Anasooya Abraham, MD, MS, has joined the staff of Van Diest Medical Center as a general surgeon.

Dr. Abraham has served as a general surgeon and endoscopist at Cambridge Medical Center, Allina Health in Cambridge, Minnesota, and was a general surgeon, providing on-call trauma coverage at Mercy Hospital and Unity Campus in Coon Rapids and Fridley, Minnesota.

Most recently, she has worked as a breast surgeon at Allina Health Cancer Institute Piper Breast Center in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

Dr. Abraham received her undergraduate degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2003. She served as a clinical research fellow at the University of Minnesota in 2008.

Dr. Abraham completed her general surgery residency training at the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2014, and a minimally invasive surgery/bariatric fellowship in 2015. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
