She’s Anne Frank

In the play “The Diary of Anne Frank,” there is no more pivotal character than Anne herself. Karina Murray, 17, of Webster City, will portray the tragic heroine in the upcoming Webster City Community Theatre production of “The Diary of Anne Frank,” according to Anne Blankenship, director. The play is adapted from the diary kept by the real Anne Frank, a Jewish girl in hiding with her family during the Holocaust.

Rehearsals are underway.

The cast also includes Dale Arends as Otto Frank; Lindsay Henderson as Edith Frank; Caroline Ehn as Margot Frank; Rachel Derrig as Miep Gies; Joe Gail as Mr. Kraler; Mark Andrew as Mr. Van Dann; Susan Andrew as Mrs. Van Dann; Max Anderson as Peter Van Dann; and Brady Winter as Mr. Dussel.

Performances are scheduled for February 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., and February 4 and 11 at 2 p.m.
