Tic tac toe in clay

Webster City seventh-graders used clay to make creative tic-tac-toe boards at the Webster City Middle School.

“After brainstorming ideas, the students chose a theme for their project, drew their idea on paper and transferred it onto clay,” teacher Heidi Kayser.

“The students sculpted the tic tac toe pieces and rolled out a slab of clay for their board. After the projects were fired in the kiln, the students painted their projects with acrylic paint.

“The favorite part of this project was sharing their creations with other students and teachers and playing a game of tic tac toe with fellow classmates.”
