Kendall Young Library has events for everyone

For kids: Kendall Young Library will be having story/activity programs for all ages throughout the fall.

Wild Things (preK-2nd) will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 7 14, 21 and 28 from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Each week will rotate an activity, including cooking, STEM or crafting.

Fuzzy Ducklings (under 3 years) will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Hungry Caterpillars (preschool) will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 8 15 and 29 from 2 to 3 p.m. Not: They will not meet on Nov. 22.

Tween’s Time (third – fifth grade) will meet on Thursday, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30 from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Note: There is no programming on Nov. 23.

For teens: Kendall Young Library will host Teen Lounge for sixth- through12th-graders on Tuesday, November 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. There will be video games, snacks, crafts and board games.

The Teen Area STEM Cart Challenge for the month of November will be a Breaking Bridges. All materials will be provided and prizes will be awarded. Teens are invited to stop at the reference desk anytime throughout the month to get more information. This competition will be open all month.

The library is also offering a Homeschool STEM Lab time to work on the Breaking Bridge on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. when teens can work on the monthly STEM Challenge. This is for youth sixth through 12th grade and is the third Thursday each month.

For adults: November Adult Book Club will read “Fire Keeper’s Daughter” by Angeline Boulley.

The club will meet Tuesday, November 14, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to discuss the book. A book for the December Book Club will be announced at this time.

For adults: Kendall Young Library will host Adult and Teen DIY on Tuesday, November 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Attendees will decorate a mug and mix some cocoa. Bring a friend and join for a fun craft time.The event is free and no sign-up is required.

For adults: Add some spice to your life with the KYL Spice of the Month Club. Starting Friday, November 3, sage will be featured. Samples will be available throughout the month while supplies last. A limited number of kits will be available each month with a small sample, information about the spice, and a couple recipes to try.
