Two county roads shut down, open back up
In the summertime, the road departments across the state are taking advantage of the warm elements to work on and complete various projects involving their local or area blacktops. The Hamilton County Road Department is no exception to this rule.
According to a news release from Ryan Weidemann, county engineer, and the Hamilton County Engineer’s Office, portions of County Road D41 and 320th St. are closed, and will reopen by the end of the day.
On Sunday, County Road D41, also known as 270th St., is shut off from traffic between Highway 69 and County Road R61. This section of road is a short distance west of Interstate 35, north of Jewell and Ellsworth and east of Kamrar.
However, the road will be open to local traffic between Highway 69 and Tollman Avenue. The road work, which saw a contractor conduct bridge maintenance, is slated to reopen at noon today.
320th Street, a gravel road located northwest of Jewell, was closed at 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning. The country road is scheduled to be back in operation by the end of the day.
The closure is due to a contractor installing a new drainage tile.
