Hamilton County Animal AdvoCATes puts on second annual Coins For Cats fundraiser
Hamilton County Animal AdvoCATes is once again raising money for TNR efforts in the county by hosting a Coins for Cats fundraiser, according to a recent news release.
Coins for Cats will be hosting a kick-off at The Cat Hut from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 17. There will be a balloon artist, cookies, cat tattoos, and kittens to play with at the kick-off.
Children will be able to pick up and decorate coin boxes. For any child who raises $12.05, the cost to care for one cat per day, they will receive a fun kitty pen or ice cream cone certificate.
There is also a contest for the best decorated coin box. Best decorated boxes will be judged by the WCF Financial team and winners will receive a wristband for the Hamilton County Fair carnival, as well as a gift certificate to Dairy Queen.
Age groups are seven and under, ages 8 to 12 years of age, and 13 to 18 years of age. The grand prize will be a gift certificate to Leon’s Pizza and movie passes.
The fundraiser officially runs from June 17th through July 14th, where it will culminate at WCF Financial with children bringing in their coin boxes to be counted and judged.
Hamilton County Animal AdvoCATes has been committed to helping local feral cats with the TNR program, as well as providing adoption and care for area cats.
These efforts make a huge difference in our community and help keep feral populations in line. Hamilton County Animal AdvoCATes opened the “The Cat Hut,” located in the former Webster City Pizza Hut building, last October as an adoption and retail center where the public can go to purchase supplies, toys and meet potential new family members.
For those who can’t participate in the fundraising events at WCF Financial Bank, there will be change and donation buckets at local Hamilton County businesses. Donations may also be made via Paypal, marking the gifts as “Coins for Cats.”
