School board to glance over tentative graduation list
With Commencement Day less than two weeks away, school boards across the state receive the latest updates from either the high school principal or the district superintendent on a tentative graduation list.
The Webster City Community School District will do the same, with a discussion of the list of outgoing seniors in the WCCSD Board of Directors’ upcoming regular meeting, set for 6 p.m. tonight in the boardroom within the School Administration Office, 820 Des Moines St., Webster City.
Commencement is scheduled for Sunday, May 21.
Other items on the agenda include setting a public hearing date for an amendment within the 2023 fiscal year budget, an agreement with the North Central Consortium School, bread and milk bids and personnel items.
In the personnel items, WCHS alumnus Drake Doolittle is slated to be the next head wrestling coach for the Lynx. The full story on Doolittle’s return can be found on Page 6 of today’s Daily Freeman-Journal.
After approving its consent items, the board will then go into a closed session to discuss the purchase or sale of particular real estate.
When the board returns to open session, the board is slated to pass a resolution for a public hearing date for the conveyance of property. The hearing — which addresses the sale of property at 825 Beach St., Webster City, is set for the board’s next meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, May 22.
After adjournment, the school board will hold a work session with the Iowa Association of School Boards. No action will be taken during the work session, which is also open to the public.
