On Monday, Van Diest Medical Center received a donation of blankets from members of the Clear Lake Sailors 4-H Club. The club creates and donates the blankets every year, as one of their citizenship projects.

Pictured in front (from left to right) are siblings Amanda, Brynn and Mason Ostrem, and standing in the back are Kim Russell, Dr. Roshan (Sonny) Sinha, Crystal Jacobs, Jamie Ferrand-Ratzke, Brittany Sadler and Hannah Larson.

Patients at VDMC are the benefactors of such positive programming. The blankets will be given to patients in the hospital and patients in the emergency department, as needed.

4-H provides kids with community, mentors, and learning opportunities to develop the skills they need to create positive change in their lives. Their programs promote service learning or learning by doing.
