Today, a downtown business gets to put the scissors to a ribbon and introduce its tasting room to the local populace.

Set for 4 p.m. today, Wildcat Distilling Company and the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting and an open house, along with drink sampling and door prizes at Wildcat’s tasting room, 626 Second St. in Webster City. Patrons attending must be 21 years of age and older.

At the event, visitors can learn more about the distillery, the process behind making the spirits and what makes their whiskey unique.

All together, there are six distinct whiskeys, four unique cocktails and eight drinks that put twists into the typical bar favorites.

The Wildcat “team” is made up of Brad Lemke, Amanda Lemke, Alissa Nelson and Tony Nelson. Brad Lemke is the Head of Operations, and Amanda is the General Manager.

The brother and sister of the Wildcat Distillery Co. team are Brad Lemke and Alissa Nelson. Tony and Alissa are husband and wife. Tony serves as the Director of Sales and Alissa is Creative Director.

Brad and Amanda Lemke live on the family farm, which is located by Duncombe.

Following the grand opening, the tasting room will host a St. Patrick’s Day-themed party. Its usual operation hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and noon to 9 p.m. on Saturdays.
