DNR to review air quality draft permit from Koch Fertilizer

Among the latest draft permits up for review from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Air Quality Bureau is a nitrogen facility in between Fort Dodge and Duncombe.

Koch Fertilizer, 3162 200th St., Duncombe, had submitted a modification application to operate its existing Nitrogenous Fertilizers facility, according to a Thursday news release from the Iowa DNR.

Koch Fertilizer now enters a public comment period, which ends on April 1. Once the period expires, the DNR Air Quality Bureau’s permitting staff reviews the application for compliance with state and federal air quality requirements.

The DNR does welcome public comments on draft permits, which gives the permitting staff insight when making effective comments. Submitted comments must be made before 4:30 p.m. on March 31.

DNR then considers public comments before finalizing the permits.

Within the release, the permits are to help protect Iowans’ health and air quality.

Starting at $3.46/week.
