Although Mother Nature pelted the central and southern parts of Iowa, the snowfall was enough to knock out the Webster City boys’ basketball team’s regular season finale.

Announced by the Webster City school district on Thursday afternoon, the Lynx’s slate of basketball games against Boone (junior varsity and varsity) has been canceled due to inclement weather.

The Lynx (16-3) will start their potential playoff run with a Class 3A-Region 1 quarterfinal matchup against Gilbert (5-15), set for 7 p.m. on Monday at the historic Jefferson Gymnasium, 1101 Des Moines Street in Webster City.
