And it’s Halloween. Here’s a look at what’s up this weekend.
1. Fuller Hall Halloween Party and Middle School Activity Night is Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. for grades 5 through 8. The cost is $5 to get in; pop, hotdogs and chips will be available for sale. There will be DJ music and plenty of prizes.
2. Scream Fest 2022 — The Haunted Barn– continues this weekend Friday and Saturday nights at 2367 220th St., Webster City. This is five miles east of Webster City on old Highway 20 on the Dave and Shelly Bergeson place. The cost is $10 to get in. Cash only. All of the profits from this go to youth groups. Here’s a shout out to Karl Chevrolet for sponsoring this spooky event.
3. Webster City citywide Trick-or -Treating will be Saturday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Turn your porch lights on and welcome the little ghouls, won’t you?
4. Join the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce in downtown Webster City for a safe business Trick-or-Treat experience.
The 400-700 blocks of Second Street will be closed from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, for area businesses to participate in this downtown event.
And, sponsored by La Perla Jarocha Restaurant: What? A Halloween Costume Contest? Submit your name, phone number, and costume photo to laperlajarochallc@hotmail to win one of three prizes. Any age can enter and winners will be chosen at random. Submissions will be accepted from now until Oct. 31.
First prize is a $30 La Peral Jarocha gift certificate; second prize is a $15 La Perla Jarocha gift certificate; and third prize is a $10 La Perla Jarocha gift certificate.
Plus, outside, MOJO Productions will playing spooky music and Halloween tunes in the middle of Second Street. They’re pulling out all the stops for their Trick-or-Treat events this year. Let the Chamber know what you want to hear and they’ll make sure to let the DJ know. And, read a story along the way. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will offer a story walk. A great addition to this event.
5. Outside Webster City? There’s fun for you too! Here are Trick-or-Treat hours for you.
Blairsburg will observe Trick-or-Treating from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Ellsworth Trick-or-Treats from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
Jewell Trick-or-Treats from 6 to 8 p.m on Monday in the residential areas. Business Trick-or-Treating starts at 5:30 p.m. the same night.
Kamrar Trick-or-Treats from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday. There’s a party at the Kamrar Fire Station for the kids too!
Randall Trick-or-Treats from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Stanhope Trick-or-Treats from 6 to 8 p.m on Monday.
Stratford Trick-or-Treats from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
