Missing Polk City woman found dead north of Ellsworth
Sara Figgins’ unoccupied vehicle was parked in a field driveway
A woman who was reported missing from Polk City late last week was found dead in Hamilton County a few miles north of Ellsworth.
The body of Sara Figgins was found early Monday morning after her vehicle was located in a field drive in the 2900 block of 315th Street in rural Hamilton County, according to Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Timmons.
Timmons said the vehicle was unoccupied when it was found, but it was registered to Figgins.
A search of the area located Figgins.
There is no suspicion of foul play and no threat to the public regarding this incident, Timmons said. The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
Timmons said a caller reported seeing the Figgins vehicle shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday.
Figgins had been reported as missing to the Polk City Police Department late last week.
The Iowa State Patrol, including K-9, Polk City Police Department, Hamilton County Emergency Management, and Jewell and Ellsworth fre departments assisted the Hamilton County Sheriff ‘s Office.
