Prom dresses from the past
The Jane Young House Exhibit Committee is planning a display of prom dresses from throughout the decades which will include ones from the Women’s Club Vintage Collection, along with ones from Webster City and our surrounding communities. Dresses “on loan” OR “by donation” will be accepted for this special spring exhibit on the second floor of the Jane Young House.
Bring the prom dress to the Jane Young House on Saturday, March 26 during Open House Tours from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and fill out a short form. Send along any accessories or memorabilia. Including an optional picture of the prom dress, framed, unframed or digital, would be very much appreciated, and it would give us a glimpse of the total look with hairstyles.
Each person with a dress contribution receives a Free Pass to the current Jane Young House Exhibit which includes a 1970’s room of fashions and also another free pass for the Prom Dress Exhibit coming up.
Upcoming dates for Open House Tours are the fourth Saturday of the month, April 23, May 28, June 25. The admission fee is $5 which includes a guided historical tour of this 1873 home and the life story of Kendall and Jane Young.
The members on the committee think it is a great idea to use a Resale Shoppe for current prom fashions. So, this display will be Prom Dresses from the Past. If you have questions please contact JoAnn at 515-310-0397, Loween at 515-297-0846, Val 847-849-3190 or Darlene at 515-835-1039.
