Stroner won’t seek another term on board
Richard Stroner, Webster City school board member, announced at Monday’s board meeting, that he will not be seeking re-election to that seat in the November election.
“After a lot of soul searching and this being my 10th year on the board, I will not be running for another board term,” he said.
Stroner said he estimated he had given 1,000-plus hours to board service in his 10 years.
“It’s a hard decision to make. I hope I’ve maybe had a positive effect on a young person at some time,” he said. “But I think that it’s time for me to step back a little.”
The board thanked Stroner for his service.
School board seats held by Stroner, Linda Williams and Eric Patterson will be on the ballot for the November election. Williams has also indicated that she would not be seeking another term.
