City councilwoman Katelin Hartmann has submitted her resignation to the council, effective Sept.15, 2021.

The resignation is on the agenda for the City Council Tuesday night, rescheduled from Monday due to the Labor Day holiday.

In her letter of resignation, Hartmann said she had recently purchased a home outside of the city limits of Webster City, which necessitated the resignation.

Hartmann is currently serving her first term on the City Council. Hartmann said she decided to run for City Council so that she could become more involved in her community, understand the workings of a city government, and to be a voice for a different demographic of citizens.

Her term expires Dec. 31, 2023.

The council will determine how to find a replacement for Hartmann’s seat.

Also on the agenda for Tuesday night, the council will consider closing the 700 block of Second Street for LIFT WC’s Taste of Fall event on Sept. 19.

A change order for the 2020 HMA Street Improvement Project with Fort Dodge Asphalt Co., Fort Dodge in the deducted amount of $32,709.42 will be considered.

A request from Fire Chief Charles Stansfield for the purchase of turnout gear will be reviewed by the council.

The board will also set a hearing on Sept. 20 at 6:05 p.m. for the disposal of city owned property on Second Street to Susan E. Erickson.

A proclamation for the upcoming Doodle Bug Days is also expected to be presented.
