Five1Five Realty and Auction Services to hold open house Friday

—Daily Freeman-Journal photo by Anne Blankenship An open house is planned for one of Webster City’s newest businesses, Five1Five Realty and Auction Services, 622 Second St. The event is Friday, Jan. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. Pictured are real estate agent Meleah Stuckey, and owners Holly Weisberg-Louk and Jamie Louk.

Holly Weisberg-Louk knew from an early age that she wanted to work in real estate.

The Woolstock native said her mom, Mary Weisberg, had worked as a realtor in Webster City for about 10 years.

“I just knew that it was something I wanted to do,” said Weisberg-Louk.

She graduated from Webster City High School in 2002 and started her real estate career with Abens Realty. She later earned her brokers license.

Now, she and her husband, Jamie Louk, have opened one of Webster City’s newest businesses, Five 1 Five Realty and Auction Services.

Both are auctioneers. As a child, Jamie Louk had his first taste of auctioneering by watching his uncle Jim Haman who operated an auction service.

“I helped him out since I was little,” he said.

Louk is originally from Paton and is currently a full-time police officer in Eagle Grove.

When the building at 633 Second St. came up for sale, the couple knew the space would be a great fit for both the real estate and auction businesses.

“When I decided to get into real estate, we decided that nothing really goes hand-in-hand with that like auction services,” she said. “And it’s something that Webster City really doesn’t have. We hope to bring that new niche to the downtown.”

Real estate agent Meleah Stuckey is originally from Colorado but has lived in Eagle Grove for the past 14 years. She’s married and her husband is also an Eagle Grove police officer.

“That’s how I met Holly,” she said.

The two were talking about Weisberg-Louk new venture and Stuckey decided she wanted to come on board with the business.

“So I took my classes this year and Holly has been teaching me and showing me the ropes,” she said.

There’s been many preparation in the past year as they worked to open the business.Weisberg-Louks said the building, the former home of PSI Printing, has been completely remodeled. That’s all part of their plan to bring something to the downtown area that will benefit Main Street USA.

“That whole concept means so much to us,” she said.

Jamie Louk has done all of the remodeling work himself, including installing an accent wall featuring sheet metal from Weisberg-Louk’s parents Missouri farm.

“So, I’ve got a little bit of my mom and dad here with me,” she said.

The front of the building is dedicated to the real estate portion of the business, with four offices. Weisberg-Louk said that gives them space to add additional agents as time goes on.

The rear of the building will house the auction services. Though COVID-19 restrictions prevents them from holding live auctions at this time, Weisberg-Louk said they plan to offer an online auction in the near future. And as soon as the live auctions can commence, the business is ready.

“The building offers plenty of room for storage for auctions and we’ve got probably four or five auctions worth of items. So, we’ll be ready to roll this summer,” she said.

A come-and-go open house for Five 1 Five Realty and Auction Services is planned for Friday, Jan. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m.

“We really embrace what ‘the 515’ has to offer. With this open house, we’re going to be serving Lomita’s margaritas, Leon’s pizza, dip from the Emporium and prizes from area businesses,” she said. “We just want to show that we have enough here to support without having to go elsewhere.”
