Supervisors to consider mask ordinance

The Hamilton County Board of Supervisors will consider a mask ordinance Tuesday at its regular meeting, beginning at 9 a.m. in the basement of the Hamilton County Courthouse.

The mask ordinance was initially approved last week by the Board of Health. The proposed ordinance will require three readings to before the measure would be official. The supervisors are expected to vote on the first reading and also to set the date for the second reading.

The board will also hear a COVID-19 update from Hamilton County Public Health Administrator Shelby Kroona.

Other agenda items include personnel action, a resolution on the 2020-27 subdivision approval, a memorandum of understanding with Upper Des Moines Opportunity Inc., and apppointments to the Mid Iowa Growth Partnership and MIDAS.

The public can access the meeting by visiting the county website, www.hamiltoncounty.org. A livestream link can be found on the home page, “supervisors’ live meeting.” The livestream begins at 9 a.m.
