Transit service to resume

Services for two area transit systems — the Dodger Area Rapid Transit and the Regional Transit Authority — will resume next week.

RTA serves the six-county region of Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Hamilton, Webster and Calhoun counties. RTA services will resume as follows June 10, and will be operated on a demand response in all six counties. Those interested are asked to contact the MIDAS dispatch office at (515) 573-8145 to schedule a ride.

DART services will also resume June 10, with fixed route services and Jefferson Lines shuttles as well as paratransit services and the Prestage work shuttle. In addition, the offices will be opened to the community, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. tp 4:30 p.m. For more information or to schedule a ride, contact the dispatch office at (515) 573-8145. Passes will be sold at regular price as of June 10 as well.

To protect the safety of our drivers and customers, we will require both drivers and riders to wear a mask or other face covering. For passengers that may not have a face covering, drivers will sell them at a cost of $2. Hand sanitizer stations have been installed in each bus and will limit seating to no passengers in first two seats and one passenger per seat to ensure social distancing. The agency has implemented cleaning protocols to help ensure the ride is safe and sanitary.

Starting at $3.46/week.
