Donation to benefit food pantries

Donor challenges others to contribute

Thanks to an anonymous donor, Hamilton County food pantries will receive a boost, with the prospect of additional funds through a challenge.

Officials with the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation announced that they recently received a donation of $10,000 by an anonymous donor to benefit the food pantries throughout Hamilton County. The donor indicated they would like to issue a challenge to the residents of the county to match their donation by the end of October 2020. As a result, the Foundation Board decided to add $2,000 to the donation and make the challenge to raise an additional $12,000 by the end of October.

“We are very excited about the anonymous donation and that the donor turned to the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation to assist them with the distribution to the local food pantries. We are looking forward to making this Challenge Match successful to provide much needed funds to our local food pantries,” said Darcy Swon, Enhance Hamilton County Foundation Development Director. “Every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to the total matching funds of $12,000. This provides us with the opportunity to bring in a potential of $24,000 to assist the food pantries throughout Hamilton County to keep their shelves stocked for those families that are requiring some additional assistance.”
