Retirement Parade set to honor WCCS staff

A special parade is planned for Thursday afternoon to honor the retiring Webster City Community School staff members.

School officials said that since the traditional retirement party could not be held, the parade will allow co-workers, students and community members to show their appreciation and congratulations.

Those wishing to take part in the parade are asked to meet in the Iowa Central Community College parking lot about 2:15 or 2:20 p.m., with the parade to begin at 2:30 p.m.

The group will travel to the high school on Beach Street to Elm Street where Kathy Davis, Catherine Schroeder, Sally Greenfield, Sue Jaycox and Sandy Crim will be waiting.

Then the parade will move to the middle school by way of Division Street to Des Moines Street. At the middle school, Denice Meyer, Cathi Hildebrand and Joann Darling will be waiting.

Organizers said the parade was a unique way to honor and thank the retirees for their years of service to the district.
