Middle school presents bands present evening of music

The band was directed by Ashton Reams. The concert also included performances by the fifth grade and sixth grade bands with direction by Elizabeth Schwake and Allen Tierney. Special guests of the night included the band fifth and sixth grade band students from Northeast Hamilton.

The Webster City Middle School Band Concert held Tuesday night included the final performance of the eighth grade band and the Northeast Hamilton fifth and sixth grade students were special guests.

The fifth grade band performed “Zombie Stomp,” “Bandroom Rock,” and “Let’s Go Band.”

The sixth grade band performed “Eye of the Tiger,” “We Know the Way” and “The Avengers.”

The combined forces of the seventh and eighth grade bands performed “Try Everything,” “Evermore,” “The Greatest Show” which is a student favorite and “My Shot” from the Broadway musical “Hamilton” with a rap performed by Hank Christeson and Caroline Ehn.

The public is invited to attend the Webster City 6th – 12th grade jazz concert on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the WC Middle School.

Besides featuring the talents of band students, the event will serve as a fundraising opportunity for Webster City High School student Hannah Brandt who is fighting cancer.
