Supervisors reorganizational meeting is today

The Hamilton County Board of Supervisors will meet Thursday morning at 9 a.m. to reorganize for the new year.

In addition to electing a new chairman and chairman pro-tem, the board is expected to pass resolutions authorizing the county auditor to issue certain payments without board approval, allowing the county auditor to make budgeted transfers of county funds and authorizing the county assessor to allow Homestead Exemptions.

The board will also set the hours and holidays for the courthouse and the regular meeting days for the board.

The supervisors will also provide the county treasurer the authority to invest county funds. A resolution establishing the depositories and businesses in which county funds may be invested is expected to pass.

The official county newspapers will be designated and appointments to various county boards and commissions will be considered.

Special session

A special session of the Board of Supervisors will be held immediately following the reorganizational meeting at 10 a.m.

A public hearing will be held on the proposed transfer of county property. The board is expected to take action on the matter following the hearing.
