Legacy Learning Boone River Valley is planning a special evening celebrating art, nature, music and storytelling.

The annual celebration is planned for Monday, Oct. 28 at the Briggs Woods Conference Center beginning at 5 p.m.

Twenty different artists will display and demonstrate their art at tables set up both inside the building and outside. Those attending will have a chance to move from table to table to see how the pieces are made and to try their hand under the direction of the artists. The demonstrations will offer a look at many different styles of art, including copper repoussee, painting, jewelry making, industrial art and blacksmithing. The artists providing demonstrations have all served as instructors for Legacy Learning workshops.

Nationally-known storyteller, singer and bicyclist Ben Weaver will be a special guest. He’ll share music and stories. Weaver is famous for his bicycle trips, including riding from Canada to Mexico.

The staff of the Conference Center will create a meal featuring a variety of soups and artisan breads.

The event will also serve as a fundraiser for LLBRV.

A silent auction is also planned for the evening. Those attending will have an opportunity to big on a variety of art works, including a painting donated by artist David Raven. Many of the Legacy Learning artists have also donated pieces for the auction.
