Relay for Life returns to Stanhope

Annual Hamilton County event set for June 19

STANHOPE — Teams from all over the county will be taking to the streets on June 19 to take part in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Hamilton County.

The Relay will be held from 5:45 to 9 p.m. in the Stanhope City Park.

The evening will actually begin at 5 p.m. in the Stanhope Community Center with a meal for survivors. The Stanhope Fire Department will be serving food for everyone else at 5:45 p.m. in the city park. Throughout the evening, the Lions Den will have popcorn, candy and pop for sale. T-Ball games will also be featured that evening.

A silent auction will run throughout the evening. Organizers said some of the items in the auction are quilts by the Stanhope Quilters, Hawkeye Football tickets for the Sept. 28 game, gift certificates to Mornin’ Glory and Pickles Pub, Fuller Hall punch passes, a Pampered Chef skillet, items from the vintage shops in Jewell and many other items.

The evening will also feature entertainment and special laps.The public is invited to attend.
