The Webster City City Council will hear a presentation Monday night by Williams and Company PC on the 2017-2018 city audit.

The council will consider a request by Administrative Services Director Beth Chelesvig to seek proposals for executive recruitment services. According to a memo to the council, requests for proposals will be sent to five firms to conduct the search for a new city manager.

The council will also set a public hearing for the 2019 Street Improvement Project plans and specification and the proposed form of contract and cost estimate. Additionally, the council will set a hearing on the proposed Ingraham Water Main Repair project. Both hearings are expected to be set for Feb. 18 at 5:35 p.m.

Emergency repairs on the the gearbox on one of the secondary clarifiers at the waste water plant are on the agenda for consideration. According to a memo from Tim Danielson, plant supervisor, the gearbox seized up on Nov. 26. The unit is the final stage in removing solids before discharge to the river, according to the memo. The cost for repairs and parts are estimated to be about $27,000.

The council will consider a request to seek bids for street line striping services.

Property matters are on the agenda again with the council to look at taking possession of a vacant and abandoned property at 1021 Clark St. The city filed a Petition for Abandonment in June and just received a judgement allowing the city to take possession.

Other agenda items include:

• a motion to renew the retainer agreement with inTandem Marketing for website, marketing, social media and related services.

• a motion on a request for two handicapped parking stalls at 719 and 715 Des Moines St.

• a motion approving a memorandum of understanding on Volunteer Fire Assistance Program Cost Share Grant from Iowa Fepartment of Natural Resources for purchase of fire equipment.

Prior to the council meeting Monday, the Fair Housing Board will convene at 5:30 p.m. to elect a chairperson and vice chair, and the appointment of the investigating committee.
