Schedule announced for H/M tax grants

Required training set for Oct. 30

The Webster City Hotel/Motel Tax Board has announced the schedule for the 22nd round of grants.

City officials said the purpose of the Hotel/Motel Tax Grants are for increasing tourism and visitors to Webster City.

A mandatory grant training session will beheld Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at City Hall. All applicants must attend in order for requests to be considered for funding.

Grant applications are due Tuesday, Nov. 20 before 5 p.m. Grant applications can be obtained at the City Manager’s office in City Hall or online at www.webstercity.com.

The board will gather for the first round review on Nov. 28 at 5:15 p.m. at which time the finalists will be determined.

Televised presentations by the finalists will be given on Monday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The board will then meet the following day to compile its recommendations on funding.

A memo will be sent to the City County on Nov. 12 with the council to consider recommendations during its regular session on Dec. 17.
