Sparta, the Great Dane, and Winston, the English Bull Dog, are enjoying one of the many dog kennels provided at The Paw Print Pad LLC. Each kennel is provided with a dog bed, as well as a doggy door they are able to access whenever they want to go outside.

Justis and Easton Burgin are the newly married co-owners of The Paw Print Pad LLC, which is a new business in Webster City that aims to help owners pamper their pooch.

Located at 2600 Aldrich Dr., behind the AmericInn, Justis Burgin runs the day-to-day operations.

That includes preparing for the grand opening that will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 from noon to 2 p.m.

Easton Burgin is originally from Bettendorf; her husband is from Webster City. The couple wed on May 5 of this year.

Together, they decided that they would provide a service to the town they were settling down.

They chose a service that would be a place where people could take their dogs, a place that provided all the amenities they themselves looked for in a boarding facility.

Before The Paw Print Pad LLC, Webster City didn’t offer that type of business; the closest similar service was located in Fort Dodge.

“I have always loved dogs and everything about them,” said Justis Burgin. “I have always wanted to do something with dogs and we finally bit the bullet and decided to open a dog boarding facility in Webster City.

“I wanted a job that I looked forward to going to every day, and dealing with dogs as a job is just a dream. The bonus is I will get paid for doing what I love.”

Services that will be provided include year-round boarding, doggy daycare for those who need care during the day, and grooming maintenance, such as baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, and a wide variety of hair cuts tailored to each particular breed.

There will also be home pick-ups and drop-offs provided for a fee for those unable to transport their dogs.

During the grand opening festivities, the community is invited to enjoy some food and to get a look at all the accommodations that will be provided for their canine kin.

There will be multiple giveaways, including a free two-night stay of boarding with a custom dog bed, food dishes, toys and shampoo.

There will also be some special promotional prices offered only during the grand opening sale, the first being 10 nights of boarding for $170, and the second being 10 days of daycare for $100. Both offer a savings of $50 and do not need to be used consecutively; the customers will be able to spread out the days over the next calendar year as they please.

A great cause the Burgins hope the community will support during opening day is giving freewill donations to the Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa, which is located in Fort Dodge.

A full list of items Almost Home needs can be found on The Paw Print Pad LLC Facebook page, but the Burgins said Almost Home needs monetary donations, towels, blankets, cat litter, kitten food, canned cat food, puppy pads, dish soap, and laundry detergent.

The community is encouraged to help out in any way they can while attending the grand opening, they said.

“I just want people to have a place to drop off their dogs that’s convenient for everyone,” Justis Burgin added. “A place that’s like a vacation for their dogs.”
