Open house
McKinley Bailey, the Executive Director of Building Families, a local non-profit that provides supports and services for children, youth, and families within the community, conducts a presentation at Iowa Central Community College about the English Language Learners free non-credit courses being offered to all people ages 16 and up. The ELL program had been moved from the ACE building in June, and ICCC held an open house Tuesday to show off their new facility in the Tom Chelesvig Center on Webster City campus. Officials said this move will allow students to become more acclimated with the campus, which would make for an easier transition from the ELL program into other higher education courses offered. “It’s exciting to let people know what’s out here. It’s a great opportunity for so many.” said Bailey, after the presentation.
