Webster City employees will receive a 3 percent raise as a result of City Council action Monday.

The council voted unanimously to award the raise to 48 employees who are not part of a bargaining unit.

Although it was approved Monday, the increase actually is retroactive to Sunday, which was the start of the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

Unionized police officers and the three Fire Department captains will receive that increase as part of previously negotiated contracts.
