A GoFundMe page has been established to help offset medical expenses for a Webster City businessman injured Saturday at his shop.

Pat Blake, owner of Pat Blake Auto Repair, was reportedly injured Saturday morning when a car hoist landed on his leg. He was taken by LifeFlight to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines where he remains a patient.

According to the GoFundMe page, due to the severity of the injury, Blake will require several reconstructive surgeries. Upon his arrival at Mercy, he had an 11-hour procedure to restore blood flow to his leg. With a long recovery anticipated, Blake will be not be able to work for an undetermined amount of time, according to the GoFundMe page.

His business was featured in the 2017 Daily Freeman-Journal Progress edition. The business is located on Second Street between Principal Financial and Dinsdale Motors. Blake said in a February interview that he was working to remodel the building and grow his auto repair business.

“I think out of all of this, I enjoy the people. They helped me build this without a doubt, “ Blake said in the Progress article. “I try to show as much appreciation to them as possible. The customers are the people that actually help me create the name and keep the doors open.”

As of late Monday afternoon, the online funding effort had climbed to $10,475, more than halfway to the goal of $20,000.

The address for the GoFundMe page is: https://www.gofundme.com/pat-blake-family.
