Stratford man arrested for arson
Multiple charges for fire, drug offenses
STRATFORD – A Stratford man was arrested on arson and meth charges following the investigation of a fire in Stratford on Sunday.
A residential fire was reported at 413 Locust St. in Stratford and the Stratford Fire Department requested assistance from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation was initiated and conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
According to Sheriff Doug Timmons, Vincent Burkhart, 37 of Stratford was charged with Arson 1st Degree Class B Felony, Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, Class D Felony, Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Marijuana a Class D Felony, Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp a Class D Felony, Child Endangerment an Aggravated Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Simple Misdemeanor.
Assisting the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was Stratford Fire and Rescue and The Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Narcotic Enforcement.
This case is still under investigation.
