Free showing at Webster Theater Saturday

Animated ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to be shown; documentary crew to film at movie house

A San Francisco-based company is focusing on Webster City for their current documentary project. The company is producing a series of short documentaries about the current state of the American Dream.

Square is profiling Webster City and it’s story of working towards the American Dream after the closing of Electrolux in 2011.

The documentary company will be filming throughout Webster City this week. One major point of focus for their film is the Webster Theater.

As a part of the film, they hope to recreate the day the Webster Theater reopened for business.

Screening Saturday

Square will be filming before and during a free screening of the animated “Beauty and the Beast” on Saturday, May 6 at 4 p.m. The public will also have an opportunity to take photos with “Belle.”

The filmmakers and the Webster Theater would love to see as many faces attend as possible to show the community’s support of the theater and to celebrate it.

“Webster City, and its people, have welcomed us so warmly in our short time here,” said Justin Lomax, from Square. “We’re thrilled to share this amazing community with a national audience through this film.”
