Drug take back a success

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Drug Enforcement Administrations Drug Take Back Program last Saturday at various locations in Hamilton County. The purpose of this program is to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs This year the Sheriff’s Office collected over 100 pounds of unwanted prescription, which will be sent to the DEA and destroyed. The Sheriff’s Department offered thanks to the following for their assistance this year in making the program a success: The Ellsworth, Jewell, Stanhope Police Department, Jewell Family Pharmacy, Hy-Vee of Webster City, and Van Diest Medical Center of Stratford.
