Cessna 3.75 scholars named

The following Webster City High School seniors were named as 3.75 Cessna Scholars:

• Josie Asklund, daughter of Cassandra and Daniel Asklund, plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa to pursue a degree in elementary education.

During high school, she was involved in football and wrestling cheerleading, served as student council president and was on the dance marathon executive committee. She was a member of Spanish Club, show choir, jazz vocal, the fall musical “Cinderella,” and auditioned for All-State Music.

• Luke Bergeson, son of Dave and Shelly Bergeson and Susan Ferto, plans to attend Iowa Central Community College and Iowa State University to pursue degree in landscape architecture and horticulture.

During high school, Bergeson was involved in National Honor Society, SPVG, tennis, track, cross country, marching band, pep band, show choir band, speech and school plays. He has been active in the Boy Scouts of America, Webster City Troop 17. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and is a member of the Order of the Arrow.

• Madalyn Casady is the daughter of Michelle and Ryan Casady. She plans to attend Iowa State University to study agriculture business.

During high school, she was a football and basketball cheerleader, participated in golf, student council, National Honor Society, Lynx Leaders, National Council on Youth Leadership, Spanish Club, FFA, SHIFT Happens, dance marathon committee, homecoming committee and prom committee.

• Kali Dawson, the daughter of Eric Dawson and Regan Dawson, plans to attend Iowa State University to study mathematics.

During high school, she was involved with track, softball, Spanish Club, yearbook, National Honor Society, prom committee, dance marathon and National Council on Youth Leadership. She also served as wrestling manager.

• Ashley Dilley is the daughter of Jean Dilley and Mike Dilley.

During high school, she was involved in FFA, National Honor Society and soccer.

• Mattias Eklund, the son of Darin and Ayn Eklund, plans to attend Buena Vista University to pursue a degree in graphic design.

His high school career included participation in basketball, National Honor Society, National Council on Youth Leadership, Art Club, North Central Conference Art Show, and served on the state crew for theater productions.

• Bryan Ferrell, son of John and Molly Ferrell, plans to attend Iowa Central Community College to study nursing.

In high school, he was involved in basketball, baseball, golf, show choir, variety show, jazz vocal, student senate, Spanish club, student council, choir council, dance marathon committee, winterfest committee, prom committee, National Honor Society, vocal all-state audition, solo and ensemble contest.

• Zachary Hassebrock, the son of Troy and Christine Hassebrock, plans to attend Iowa State University.

During high school, he was active in basketball, football, National Honor Society and youth group.

• Jaymie Hill is the daughter of Craig and Patty Hill. She plans to attend Grandview University in Des Moines where she will pursue an elementary education degree..

During high school, she was involved in Spanish club, chorus and track.

• Jayden Mathis is the daughter of Jeremiah Mathis Jr. and Melissa Mathis. She plans to attend Drake University to study pre-pharmacy/psychology.

During high school, she was involved in softball, tennis, was a basketball cheerleader, SHIFT Happens, student council, student senate, Lynx Leaders, and was a semi-finalist for the National Council on Youth Leadership.

• Makenna Neuroth, daughter of Scott Neuroth and Sonya Neuroth, plans to attend Iowa State University to study kinesiology.

In high school, she was involved in yearbook, Spanish club, basketball, National Honor Society, prom committee and was a Winterfest court nominee. She also took part in dance and National Catholic Youth Conference.

• Brandon Peck, son of Ken and Kristy Peck, plans to attend Iowa State University where he will study political science.

In high school, he was involved with football, wrestling, tennis, National Honor Society, FFA, student council, National Council on Youth Leadership and is a member of the Iowa National Guard.

• Rihanna Wood, daughter of Randy Wood and Michelle Wood, plans to study nutrition at Iowa State University.

During high school, she participated in volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, student council, dance marathon, Spanish club, chorus, National Honor Society, National Council on Youth leadership, yearbook, and was a math tutor.
