Webster City High School Football Coach Bob Howard revs up the crowd Wednesday evening at Prem Sahai Auditorium during the pep rally. The rally was held in honor of the Webster City High School Football team who will be making Lynx history tonight as they play in the Class 3A State Championship game.

The Webster City High School cheerleaders led the packed auditorium in a round of cheers throughout the night.

Former Lynx football players John Davis and Karl Peterson spoke to the team and congratulated them on a job well done.

Superintendent Mike Sherwood congratulated the team on a job well done.

Howard gave a short speech on the pride he felt for this year’s team and thanked them and the community for their efforts in getting the team to the state championships for the first time in Lynx history.

“Legacy and tradition do matter. Hard work and commitment matter,” said Howard. “These guys are a reflection of that. This is one of the best teams I have ever been associated with.”

The Class 3A State Championship game will begin at 7 p.m. tonight at the UNI Dome.
