Entries for tree festival sought

WILLIAMS?- The deadline to participate in the Williams Public Library Christmas Tree Festival is Thursday, Nov. 10.

Any individual, family, organization, church or business can register to decorate a Christmas tree for the event.

The cost of entry is five canned goods or nonperishable foods or paper products which will be given to the Hamilton County Food Bank.

Trees can be any size, ranging from table top to the maximum height of six foot, according to Williams Public Library Librarian Diane Sinclair. Individuals must provide their own tree.

Electrical outlets are available but lights are an optional decoration, said Sinclair.

Participants can decorate their tree any day the library is open from Friday, Nov. 25 through Dec. 3.

Library visitors vote by placing a canned good item under their favorite tree. A special prize will be awarded to the individual or group with the most items under their tree by Dec. 20.

Trees can be removed before Jan. 1, 2017. Register by calling the Williams Public Library at (515) 854-2643.
