Council meets tonight

The City Council of Webster City will meet tonight at the council chambers at 5:30 p.m. tonight.

There are two motions on request on the council agenda. There is a motion on request to purchase sampling equipment for the Wastewater Treatment Plant and a motion on tree grinding services at the Tree/Brush drop-off site.

A public hearing will be held at 5:45 p.m. on the receipt and approval of proposals for the disposal and development of certain City-owned real property in the West Second Street Urban Renewal Area, 1700 West Second St.

A resolution approving Change Order No. 2, to the Tile Pros, Webster City, for completion of contract for Phase 1 of the Riverside Stormwater Wetland Project is on the agenda for possible approval.

A resolution approving Change Order No. 3 to reconcile quantities, decrease in contract amount of $655 to Vieth Construction Corporation, Cedar Falls, for the 2016 Street Improvement Project is on the agenda for possible approval.

A resolution accepting work, authorizing final/No. 6 payment of $40,377.85 and retainage of $20,975.05 in 30 days to Vieth Construction Corporation, Cedar Falls, for completion of contract for the 2016 Street Improvement Project is on the agenda for possible approval.

There is a motion on request for $500 from the Hamilton County Conservation Department for the Parks to People Project.

A resolution authorizing the City Council of the City of Webster City to proceed with facilitating a Housing Development Project as initiated with the approval of the preliminary plats of Brewer Creek Estates 5th and 6th Additions is on the agenda for possible approval.

The council will discuss and make a motion setting a time and date for future Town Hall meetings.

The first reading of a proposed ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Webster City, IA, 1996, by amending Section 90 pertaining to wells is on the council agenda.

The first reading of a proposed ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Webster City, IA, 1996, by amending Chapter 119A, Section 119A.01 and Section 119A.02 pertaining to the Wilson Historic Park is on the agenda for possible approval.

A motion accepting an easement from the Van Diest Family, LLC, for a public water main is on the agenda.

A request from the Interim City Manager/Public Grounds Director to seek bids for a 72 inch tractor mower with aerator for the public grounds department is on the agenda for possible council approval.

A request from the Engineering Tech/Project Coordinator to seek proposals for tree trimming and removal services is on the agenda for possible council approval.

A resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to enter into Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Professional Services for engineering services with Bolten & Menk, Ames, in connection with the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The council will discuss the possibility of creating a Youth Advisory Committee as a City committee.

A public hearing will be held at 5:45 p.m. concerning the Urban Renewal Plan amendment for the 2016 Industrial Urban Renewal Area. A resolution approving the urban renewal plan amendment for the 2016 Industrial Urban Renewal Area is also on the agenda for approval.

A public hearing will be held at 5:50 p.m. concerning entering into ten year Wastewater Services Agreement between the City of Webster City and Iowa’s First, Inc., d/b/a VeroBlue Farms in connection with the company’s use as a customer of the sewage system. A resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to enter into a ten year Wastewater Services Agreement between the City of Webster City and Iowa’s First, Inc., d/b/a VeroBlue Farms in connection with the company’s use as a customer of the sewage system is on the agenda for possible approval.

A public hearing will be held at 5:55 p.m. concerning the possibility of entering into a five year Records Management Software Lease with Computer Information Systems. A resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to enter into an professional services agreement with Computer Information Systems, Skokie, IL, and a five-year lease purchase agreement with Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, TX, for Records Management Software for the Webster City Police Department is on the agenda for possible approval.
