Hamilton County Fair wraps up

The Hamilton County Fair wrapped up its week-long run Sunday with the Parade of Champions and the naming of the supreme senior showman.

Raquel Holt was named the Hamilton County Fair Supreme Showman Sunday afternoon following a test of skills and knowledge held in the show area/events center.

Holt who won the senior showman prize in the dog obedience competition and the rabbit show, competed with the senior showmanship winners from the goat, swine, sheep, beef, poultry and horse shows.

The afternoon also brought the parade of champions. Winners from each of the livestock event circled the show ring with their animals and trophies while a packed audience applauded them. Included in the parade were the 4-H members who will advance to the state fair for their static exhibitions in sewing and needle arts, fashion revue, foot and nutrition, home improvement, personal development, visual arts, child development and consumer management, ag and natural resources and science and engineering.

The winners of the 4-H Foundation Scholarships were also announced during the afternoon Tannah Schroeder, Matthew Schroeder, Rachel Huegerich, Raquel Holt and Sarah Godfredsen.

The Eve of Destruction demolition derby Sunday night capped off the week of activities at the Hamilton County Fair.
