Garth is new activities director at Windsor Manor

SUNSHINE GARTH

Windsor Manor has welcomed Sunshine Garth as the facility’s new Activity Director.

Garth is a lifelong resident of Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School in 1995. After high school, she attended college a few years, both at Iowa Central and ISU, before deciding to join the Army. She completed an Associate’s Degree in Graphics Technology in 2012.

Most recently, she has worked as the activity director at Crestview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Webster City.

Being an activity director, she said, “fits my creative side. I love to sing, do art … I think life is about playing; we should embrace our inner child and play no matter how old we are.”

Garth has a son, Carter, who turns 21 in January. She also is raising two young girls with her partner, Troy Duffy. They have Brooklyn, 8 and Daytona, 7.

If she had time for hobbies, she said, she would most likely be singing, reading or drawing. She also spends time as the choir director at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

As she starts at Windsor Manor, she said, “I’m excited to get to know everybody and make new relationships with people.”
