Iowa Works resume workshop set for Monday at Kendall Young Library

Kendall Young Library will be hosting a Resume Workshop, presented by Iowa Works, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday at the library. Anyone looking for tools, tips or critique of a resume is invited to participate. All are invited to bring an existing resume that needs updated, or bring information to start a resume from the beginning. All ages are invited.

Eight-Ball Pool Tournament results announced by Fuller Hall

On Monday, the Fuller Hall staff organized an eight-ball pool tournament for students over the holiday break. Mark Glascock was in charge of the tournament. The results are as follows: For the boys who are in third and fourth grade, Caleb Montazuma came in first place, Cole Picket earned second place and Drew Pickett was in third place. The tournament for boys in the fifth and sixth grades had the following results. Cru Simonton came in first place, Jude Blake came in second place and Bentley Burtnett placed third. Webster City Christmas tree pickup to be Monday

The Webster City Street Department will be picking up Christmas trees on Monday, weather permitting. Trees should be placed at the nearest street corner prior to 7 a.m. on Monday as only one trip will be made through the city. Please remove all stands and decorations and place these trees so they will not obstruct sight distance and not blow into the street to create a traffic hazard. Bagged trees or trees with a stand will not be picked up.

Kendall Young Library announces teen events for January

Teen Lounge – Patrons in sixth-12th grades are invited each Tuesday in January from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Join us weekly for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more. Thursday, Jan. 15, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Homeschool TECH BUILD: Students will have time to build a projectile launcher and explore different design options. During this project, students will have the opportunity to follow plans to build, but also make modifications to improve the design. The Fuller Hall Holiday fun week free throw contest was held on Dec. 23. There were 11 youth who participated with the contest, which was coordinated by Mark Glascock, recreation technician for Fuller Hall.
