Summer Teen Lounge meets at library Thursday

Teens from sixth to 12th grades can gather at the Kendall Young Library from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday to enjoy a movie with snacks at the library. Different events will be held each week at the library as part of the summer reading program, “Plant a seed, Read.”

Public hearing on the 2027 hospital budget is Tuesday

In response to the petition protesting the fiscal year 2027 budget of the Hamilton County hospital and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 24 of the Iowa code, the State Appeal board hereby gives notice of a public hearing at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The meeting will be held in the basement conference room at the Hamilton County Courthouse, located at 2300 Superior St. in Webster City.

American Legion Flag Day disposal service this Friday

In observance of Flag Day, the American Legion Post 191 will conduct a ceremonial retirement of unserviceable U.S. flags at 4 p.m. on Friday. This dignified event will take place in the north alley of the 700 block of Second Street, adjacent to Pagel Glass. Community members are encouraged to deliver any flags they wish to include in the ceremony to the American Legion at 726 Second St., Webster City, prior to Thursday. The Legion is open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Alternatively, flags may be brought directly to the ceremony site at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
