Kendall Young Library starts summer programs next week

Kendall Young Library patrons can participate in the summer library program, the theme which is “Plant a Seed, Read”. There will be events, contests, and activities that are geared for each age group: children, teens, and adults. A variety of special speakers, crafts, and fun family events are planned for both at the library and throughout Webster City. Stop in beginning Monday to sign up and learn more about the summer programs.

Children’s Summer Reading Program — Patrons, birth to 5th grade, can get involved in a variety of “Plant a Seed, Read” programs. There are reading challenges, adventure maps, and great programs each week. Details and resources to participate are available at the Children’s Checkout Desk.

Children’s Special Events

Sunday, 4:30-6:30 p.m.: Family Summer Kickoff Party with live music by Chad Elliot, Big game, face painting, balloon art and hot dogs, chips and cookies. Fun for the whole family.

Friday, June 5, 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Author and storyteller Joan Enockson will be entertaining patrons for ages 7-12 years. Lunch to follow.

Thursday, June 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Mini Golf by Wandering Greens at Webster City Market Night –sponsored by Kendall Young Library.

Tuesday, July 7, 5 -8p.m.: Family Pool Party at the Webster City outdoor pool — free event for the whole family .

Thursday, July 9, 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Patrons are invited to play the BIG GAMES in the Teen Area. Anyone 8 years and older or with an adult can stop in and enjoy the fun.

Thursday, July 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Family Foam Party at Webster City Market Night — sponsored by Kendall Young Library.

Thursday, August 6, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Family Foam Party at Webster City Market Night — sponsored by Kendall Young Library.
