Kendall Young Library announces adult programs for April

The Kendall Young Library are offering the following adult programs throughout the month of April.

Women’s Self Defense Workshop: Kendall Young Library, in conjunction with the Webster City Police Department, will be hosting a Women’s Self-Defense Workshop on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. This event is open to ages 13 and up, is free and does not require registration.

Adult Daytime Book Club: The Daytime Book Club will be discussing “A Cow for College” by James Kenyon on April 14 at the Kendall Young Library. The group will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. to listen to a book talk with Author James Kenyon, and have a group discussion. A book for the May Book Club will be announced at this time.

Books & Bourbon Silent Book Club: Kendall Young Library is hosting a Silent Book Club at Seneca Street Saloon, 919 Seneca St., on April 16. Note the new location. Adults are invited to gather together on Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Bring a book, grab a drink, and enjoy an introvert happy hour. This event is always the third Thursday of each month.

Women of Natural History: Kendall Young Library will be exploring Women of Natural History with Kim White at 10:30 a.m. on April 18. Throughout history, women have made significant observations that have changed our understanding of the natural world. From Queen Hatshepsut’s botanical collections (1478-1458 B.C.E), to paleontologist Mary Anning (1799-1847), to biologist Rachel Carson (1907-1964).

Adult BINGO: Test your luck with Adult BINGO at Kendall Young Library. Patrons can win small snacks and prizes from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 21. This traditional BINGO is free and brings fun prizes.

Fiber Arts Hangout: Bring projects to work on and share on April 23 at the library. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the library will host a time to work on favorite fiber arts projects. Patrons will be available who can help those learning how to crochet, but all are welcome to bring personal projects to work on and socialize. Anyone age 16 and above is invited to come; some supplies will be available. There is no registration required.

Coffee with a Cop: Meet and touch base with the Webster City Police and enjoy a cup of coffee at Kendall Young Library. Everyone is invited at 8:30 a.m. on April 28. Learn who provides the protection around the Webster City area.

Adult DIY: Kendall Young Library will be hosting Adult DIY on from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on April 28. The project planned for patrons is to create a pom pom frame. Everything needed will be provided. This event is free and does not require registration.
