Readers Theatre will read ‘12 Angry Jurors’

Webster City Community Theatre will hold a Readers Theatre to peruse the play “12 Angry Jurors” on Sunday, November 23, at Webster City Community Theatre, 1001 Willson Avenue, Webster City.

This event begins at 3 p.m.

The play will be the next production on the WCCT 2025-2026 season. John Marvel will direct the production and will lead the reading

“12 Angry Jurors” is a tense, character-driven courtroom drama that takes place entirely inside a jury room as 12 citizens deliberate the fate of a teenager accused of murder.

What follows is a gripping examination of personal biases, heated arguments, shifting alliances, and the moral responsibility of deciding someone’s fate. As tempers flare and perspectives change, the jurors discover that justice requires patience, courage and an open mind.

“12 Angry Men,” written by Reginald Rose, was originally a one-hour teleplay for a CBS series. Later it was developed into a feature film and eventually a stage adaptation.

“12 Angry Jurors” is a modern adaptation of that script, written to allow mixed-gender casts while keeping the original plot and structure fully intact.

Auditions for “12 Angry Jurors” will be held Sunday, December 14, and Monday, December 15, at 6 p.m. both nights.

Performances are scheduled for February 27-March 8.

The reading is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the production, the roles and the upcoming production, or those who just enjoy reading. Bring your own beverage and a snack to share, if you would like.

Starting at $3.46/week.
