Webster City native Gemma Borer graduated with honors from Iowa State University on Friday, May 16. She graduated with a double major in English and Communications.

Borer graduated Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.88. She also was recognized by Lambda Pi Eta, which is a prestigious honor society for communication students that recognizes academic excellence and promotes professional development. She served as vice president of the Lambda Pi Eta chapter at Iowa State.

Borer will be working in the accounting department at Van Diest Supply Company Co. over the summer, and plans to move to Austin, Texas, in August.
