Steven Smith

Steven Smith of Blairsburg will be honored with a Governor’s Volunteer Award for outstanding commitment and service.

A ceremony will be held on July 16 at Buena Vista College’s Schaller Memorial Chapel at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow the ceremony.

Smith recently graduated from Buena Vista University with a degree in history, education studies and a minor in public administration.

A letter from Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg notified Smith of the honor.

“We’re pleased to honor those who have given the gift of their time to meet essential needs all across Iowa,” Reynolds wrote in her letter.
