Janelle Cross, formerly of Webster City and a 2003 graduate of WCHS, recent- ly finished her doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette Unversity, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a Rehabilitation Biomechanics specialization. Her dissertation work focused on developing a biplanar fluoroscopic system for analyzing in vivo foot and ankle kinematics during gait. As a graduate student, she also worked with MCW(Medical College of Wisconsin) and the Sports Medicine Department assisting with pitching analysis for the Brewers.

Cross attended ICCC, and then went onto the University of Iowa for her Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering. She then at- tended Barry University in Miami, FL for her Master’s in Movement Science, with a concentration in Sports Biomechanics. Her thesis focus was on female collegiate athletes and their risk of lower extremity injuries.

While at ICCCC Cross played on the basketball team, and at the University of Iowa, she walked onto the rowing team. She rowed there for three years before continuing on to Barry Uni- versity and became an Assistant Coach of the rowing team. Cross loves to play sports and still actively plays on a basketball, softball and flag football team.

Cross resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is an Assistant Professor and Director of Sports Medicine Research at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
