Martha Hill

Martha Ermels Hill is celebrating her 98th birthday in February. Her family is hosting a card shower to honor her big day. Cards and well wishes can be sent to Windsor Manor, 1401 Wall St. Apt. 505, Webster City, IA 50595.

Martha was born in Webster City on Feb. 6, 1928, the third child of Carl and Suzanne Ermels. She married Richard Hill on June 5, 1946, and together they farmed in rural Webster City and operated a Standard Oil business in Stanhope. Richard passed away in January of 1999 and youngest son Chuck died in July of 1977. Martha’s three siblings: Betty Patterson, Helen Lee and Bernard Ermels have also passed away.

Today Martha has three living sons: Rich (Teri) Hill of Lyons, Kansas; Tom (Diana) Hill and Carl (Jeanne) Hill of Webster City, nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
