Ron and Kathy Birkestrand

Ronald and Kathleen Birkestrand of Webster City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 22.

Ronald Birkestrand and Kathleen Koolhof were married at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City on Aug. 22, 1969.

The couple has four children — David Birkestrand of Huxley, Iowa; Jana Ott (Bryan) of Minneapolis; Andrew Birkestrand (Sarah) of Minneapolis; and Joseph Birkestrand (Sarah Francis) of Ankeny, Iowa. They also have seven grandchildren — Maggie and Zach Birkestrand of Nevada, Iowa; Krissana, Sophia and Scarlett Ott of Minneapolis; and Amelie and Tate Birkestrand of Ankeny; as well as one great-grandson — Jaxdyn Birkestrand of Nevada.
